The Division provides diagnostic evaluation and management of esophageal, stomach,
small intestinal, colonic, pancreatic, and nutritional disorders.
We treat children for:
- Abdominal pain (recurrent/persistent)

- Gastrointestinal foreign bodies
|
|
|
- Gastrointestinal infections
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
- Inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn’s
disease, ulcerative colitis)
|
|
|
- Intestinal pseudo-obstruction
|
- Difficulty swallowing (dysphagia)
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
- Pancreatitis (acute/chronic)
|
- Feeding disorders or difficulties
|
- Polyps (gastrointestinal)

- Food allergy (non lgE mediated)

Our staff performs a number of procedures for disease diagnosis and management, including:
- Breath hydrogen testing for carbohydrate malabsorption, small bowel bacterial overgrowth
- Colonoscopy
- Endoscopic retrograde cholangiography
- Esophageal dilatation
- Percutaneous gastrostomy
- Sigmoidoscopy
- Upper gastrointestinal endoscopy and biopsy
- Video capsule endoscopy
- 24-hour esophageal pH monitoring
- Liver biopsy
- Esophageal vein sclerosis, banding
