  • December 1 - 24, 2008 - 102.9 DRC-FM, Wal-Mart, and Sam's Club's "Angels for Connecticut Children's Medical Center" toy drive - This holiday season, 102.9 DRC-FM is once again teaming up with Wal-Mart and Sam’s Club to collect toys for Connecticut Children’s Medical Center. The event will run from December 1st to December 24th and DRC-FM will visit a different Wal-Mart or Sam’s Club from Noon to 2:00 each of those days.

  • February 21 and 22, 2009 - The 2009 UConn HuskyTHON - HuskyTHON is an 18 hour Dance Marathon event, where the students of the University of Connecticut stand and dance to raise money for Connecticut Children’s Medical Center. It is the University of Connecticut’s ONLY student run philanthropy event.

    HuskyTHON is not just a dance marathon, entertainment at the event includes inflatables, bands, dancers, singing groups, DJs, and other fun and games.

  • April 4, 2009 - New Frontiers for the Children - A dinner and celebration The Center for Pediatric Inflammatory Bowel Disease at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center strives to provide state-of-the-art care and treatment aimed at improving the lives of the over 500 children in the region with Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.

    New Frontiers for the Children is a very special formal evening which will raise funds and awareness for the vital mission of the Center for Pediatric Inflammatory Bowel Disease at Connecticut Children’s. Guests will enjoy the elegance and historic beauty of The Hartford Club as well as a cocktail reception, silent auction, dinner, and live entertainment. All proceeds will benefit the endowment that supports state-of-the-art clinical services and cutting-edge, bio-medical research devoted to improving the lives of children with IBD.

  • April 26th, 2009 - The 2009 Connecticut Miracle Ride - "The Ride is back"
    Join thousands of motorcyclists from all over the region as they come together on April 26th to support Connecticut Children's Medical Center. Riders will gather to starting points all over Connecticut. They will then ride to Newington and form a massive parade that will ride past Connecticut Children's on it's way to High Meadow in North Granby.

  • May 9, 2009 - vie for the Kids - The Cancer Clinical Trials Program at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center helps to ensure that new cancer treatments are available for children in our region and that Connecticut Children’s continues to make a significant contribution toward the development of new treatments for children with cancer across the country and throughout the world.

    vie, a company that helps other companies compete more effectively by turning more of its salespeople into top performers conducts a very special event to benefit cancer clinical trials at Connecticut Children’s, appropriately called "vie for the Kids". The event is being hosted this year by The Ethel Walker School in Simsbury, CT. It will feature a 5k morning run/walk through Walker Woods followed by an evening reception with wine tasting and silent and live auctions held in the beautiful Beaver Brook Academic Building.
