Located alongside the tranquil
Connecticut River, the brand new Connecticut Convention Center is a key
component of the revitalization of this historical city. The Convention
Center opened its doors in 2005 and is located next to the charming
Riverside Plaza with its outdoor amphitheater, riverboat cruises and
lovely walking trails.
Within walking distance of the Convention Center, there is much to
explore. The Old State House stands surrounded by beautiful
Connecticut oak trees only two blocks away. The Wadsworth Atheneum
boasts that it is America’s oldest public art museum and is now home
to over 45,000 works of art. This gem is located three blocks from
the Convention Center. The oldest home in Hartford, the Butler
McCook Homestead, sits minutes away on Main Street. This home
features restored Victorian gardens and explores three centuries of
life in Hartford.
The Star Shuttle is available for free public transportation to
fifteen locations within the city. Visit the legendary and very
unique home of Mark Twain and his next-door neighbor, famed
abolitionist, Harriet Beecher Stowe. Enjoy the fountains of Bushnell
Park or meander through the lovely rose gardens of Elizabeth Park.
Nightlife abounds in Hartford with many fine dining experiences,
clubs and theaters. The Bushnell Center for Performing Arts and The
Hartford Stage offer everything from symphonies and jazz to Broadway
tours. If you are in the mood for a laugh, head over to the Brew Ha
Ha Comedy Club, an easy walk from Riverfront Plaza.

Connecticut in all of its Autumn glory … and enjoy a great
